The lapping and polishing plates are the components intended to hold the abrasive, an important element for obtaining the required surface finish. It will be selected according to the operation :

Lapping

Cast iron plates Aqua Lam® manufactures a full range of cast iron plates and rings for single and double plate lapping machines. Made of top quality cast iron, these plates and rings are available in the dimensions shown in the PDF-file, but all personalised requests are handled as quickly as possible.

Poli-Lapping

		NEW LAM MM Plate series 900 In 1990, LAM PLAN created a new patented technique: the patented lapping system known as NEW LAM M’M’®. The NEW LAM® M’M’ plate uses the free diamond abrasive to operate. As soon as the plate starts rotating, under the effect of the initial weight of the parts and the load applied by the machine’s cylinders, the diamond grains move and are fixed producing an abrasive action only on the surface of the parts to be lapped. Alternation between a “cutting” effect and an “impact” effect is provided by the differences in the levels of hardness on the surface of the plate, made up by the even geometric patterns of the two components of the plate. The layout and shape of the hard and soft parts of the plate are constantly guiding the cutting angle of the diamond grains contained in the abrasive film.
		NEW LAM MM ® Plates with cooling system. The flat lapping is based on mechanical and physical rules where the importance and the constancy of the temperatures are essential. To master the flatness of the platen the temperature must be controlled. The incorporation of the cooling system inside the plate allows to pick up, at the beginning, the emited calories.
